Going Downhill Fast!

It has been a tough race season and our first two races were canceled because of warm weather. We had good conditions at Beech, and were able to race both days. We got to race Saturday at Hawksnest, but the Sunday race was canceled because of seventy mph + winds. We got both races in at Sugar this past weekend, and had good conditions. The finals are at Silver Creek, WV. on March 7^th, 8^th and 9^th.

PETE'S TRIP NEWS

The Catawba Valley Ski Club tentative will be going to Tahoe for our western trip next year. If you would like to pre-pay for this trip, we can set up an account for you through the club. All you need to do is send your money to Alan Cline at the address below. Please make sure that you include with the check what it is for and for whom. Make sure there is a contact number with the contact info. Please keep up with what you have sent in. Alan and I will work together to keep up with this for you too. From March to December a payment of $100 a month will give you $1000 to be paid on your trip.

Now offering Terrain Park as an event at 3 of the race events.

March 7-9 SilverCreek, WV 

Event starts at 12 noon on the first day of the races all riders must pre resister before each event.

Info and rules for terrain park event: 

Handicap or qualify at 11am events tentatively will begin at 12 noon all riders must register before the event any last min. entries must be approved by the event coordinator.  All participants must sign a Crescent Ski Council waiver before they can participate.  Minors must have their parent or legal guardian sign the Crescent and resort waivers.

Each rider will be given 2 passes through the course and final score will be the better of the two.

Riders will be judged on style, difficulty of tricks and total use of course.

Max. score will be 99.9

2 divisions will include Novice/ Intermediate and Advance

1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place given for each division

Snowboarders and skiers welcome to participate and must be a member of a club associated with Crescent Ski Council

All riders must wear helmets and please review terrain park rules to be included with race rules 

Terrain Park rules:

All relevant race rules apply to terrain park events

All riders must wear helmets

Only one rider on course at a time or you may be disqualified

Competitors are not required to attempt any maneuvers that they are not comfortable doing or which they do not have the skill level.
